《横断山昆虫》中国科学院自然科学一等奖（参加者），《西南武陵山地区昆虫》中国科学院自然科学三等奖（主要完成者），《福建武夷山区叶甲科昆虫志》福建省自然科学三等奖（主要完成者），《中国经济昆虫志》国家自然科学二等奖，中国科学院自然科学二等奖（参加者）。杨星科研究员现任中国科学院动物研究所鞘翅目形态与分子进化研究组组长。该研究组是已故陈世骧教授建立的，是在叶甲总科系统分类及演化研究的基础上发展起来的。除以叶甲科和金龟总科为主的研究工作外，涉及鞘翅目20余科。该组拥有陈世骧教授亲自收集、积累的较为完整、系统的叶甲总科的大量资料及鞘翅目、昆虫区系及演化的珍贵资料。因此，鞘翅目的系统进化作为该组的研究方向之一。同时，该组具有多次参与组织和实施昆虫区系本底调查的经历及经验积累，从横的方面对昆虫区系的研究做了许多重要工作，如《横断山区昆虫》、《长江三峡库区昆虫》等，而且目前已完成组织实施我国生物地理关键地带——甘南及秦岭地区昆虫区系的调查及研究工作，因此把昆虫区系研究作为另一研究方向。该组在鞘翅目比较形态学、形态适应性演化及进化生物地理学等方面的研究，已取得引人注目的成果，发表相关理论研究文章20余篇；近几年在物种的形态分化及种化的关系方面也做了大量的基础性工作，这些工作在国内处于领先地位。
